It's interesting to note that while Ford chose the name "Mustang" to reflect
the spirited image of the P-51 US World War 2 fighter plane named the Mustang,
the public immediately associated the car with the untamed wild horse of
the American West. Ford quickly adopted the image of a wild galloping horse
as the badging symbol of this now classic car.
1965 saw the introduction of the sporty 2+2 model and through an arrangement with FOMOCO,
Carrol Shellby began de production of the now famous Mustang Cobras. Whit a sportier
uned suspension and hi performance 289 engines.
Sporty 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback. Equipped with a Ford V8, performance Edelbrock
intake, 4-Barrel Edelbrock Carburetor, Cobra oval air cleaner and die cast aluminum rocker
covers. This engine is mounted to a 3 speed manual gearbox. The exhaust has been upgrated
with chrome headers, glass pack dual mufflers and chrome tips that exit in front of the
rear wheels. The brakes have also been upgrated with front disks and dual master cylinder.
The exterior is finished in a bright RED and is in very good condition. The interior is
black vinyl and all panels and seats are in great condition. Thousands invested over the
years and it shows. Car runs and drives great, a great American Classic!
