The Chevrolet Corvette first appeared in 1953 as a unique American entry into the sports
car market dominated by European makes. Although not a muscle car by definition, the Corvette
used muscle car powertrains and has represented American performance for almost fifty years.

The Sting Rays were the automotive success story of the year. Chevrolet had to add
a second shift to its St. Louis, Missouri assembly plant to keep up with demand, and
dealers reported owners waiting months for their cars to be built. By the end of the
model year, Corvette production would surpass the 20,000-unit milestone.

After a year's absence, the Stingray name re­appeared on the front fenders. Front and rear disc
brakes, headlight washers, center console, wheel trim rings, carpeting, and all-vinyl upholstery
were now standard. This was the first time the coupe outsold the convertible, and would continue
to do so in all subsequent years.

1969 Corvette Stingray Sport Coupe. Fitted to this car; a 350 CI, 300 HP V-8 engine.
The transmission is four-speed manual shift with an upgrated Hurst Shifter.
The exterior is Daytona Yellow with removable T-Tops and a Black vinyl interior.
Factory options include Pwr. Steering, Pwr. Brakes and Radio Delete. Vehicle has also been
upgrated with a modern Delco Remi Electronic Ignition. Runs and drives extremely well, a
solid example of a great American Classic Muscle Car.
