71' Corvette Stingray Coupe

The Chevrolet Corvette first appeared in 1953 as a unique American entry into the sports
car market dominated by European makes. Although not a muscle car by definition, the Corvette
used muscle car powertrains and has represented American performance for almost fifty years.

After a year's absence, the Stingray name reappeared on the front fenders. Front and rear disc
brakes, headlight washers, center console, wheel trim rings, carpeting, and all-vinyl upholstery
were now standard. This was the first time the coupe outsold the convertible, and would continue
to do so in all subsequent years.

If you liked the 1970 Corvette, you'd like the 1971. They were virtually the same car. A new resin
process (that supposedly improved the body) and a different interior were the major changes. Under
the hood, compression ratios were lowered to enable Corvette engines to run on lower octane fuel.

Third Generation Stingray

Fitted to this car; a NUMBERS MATCHING "Big Block" LS5 454/365 HP V-8 engine.
The transmission is the factory optional Turbo Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission. The exterior is
Bridgehampton Blue with a Dark Blue vinyl interior. Factory options include
Pwr. Steering, Pwr. Brakes, Air Conditioning, Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column, and
Deluxe Wheel Covers. A solid example throughout. An excellent driver! Original GM Protect-O-Plate.
