After a year's absence, the Stingray name reappeared on the front fenders. Front and rear disc
brakes, headlight washers, center console, wheel trim rings, carpeting, and all-vinyl upholstery
were now standard. This was the first time the coupe outsold the convertible, and would continue
to do so in all subsequent years.
If you liked the 1970 Corvette, you'd like the 1971. They were virtually the same car. A new resin
process (that supposedly improved the body) and a different interior were the major changes. Under
the hood, compression ratios were lowered to enable Corvette engines to run on lower octane fuel.
Third Generation Stingray
Fitted to this car; a NUMBERS MATCHING 350/270 HP V-8 Turbo Fire engine.
The transmission is the factory optional 4 speed manual. The exterior is Brands Hatch Green with a
Dark Green vinyl interior. Factory options include Pwr. Steering, Pwr. Brakes and AM/FM Radio.
Car comes complete with the original Corvette Gas Tank Sticker and full set of receipts for parts and
repairs. A Solid example of a great American Classic Muscle Car. An excellent driver!
